Theaterfestival Boulevard is a summer festival held in and around ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The adventurous programme includes theatre shows, dance, music theatre, street theatre, music, and other art forms, some of which are not so easily pigeonholed. In the annual ritual the festival is, we find an opportunity to truly share an experience.

Partner DansBrabant is a stimulant and catalyst for dance and choreography, working with a diverse palette of talented choreographers. While placing the human body at the centre of a world in motion, they are keen to create an inspiring dance climate in the Dutch province Noord-Brabant.

Heleen
Volman
Dans Brabant - Artistic Director
Heleen Volman founded DansBrabant in 2013 and has been the artistic leader ever since. With DansBrabant she collaborates with talented choreographers next to putting effort into developing a fertile dance climate for the province of Noord-Brabant. Previously, she worked as artistic coordinator at Productiehuis Brabant and for ten years, she was connected to dance company Raz/Hans Tuerlings as artistic employee and text writer. In 1999 Heleen received the E.duPerron price for her work ‘Reizen met eieren.’ She was described as a writer who lets the language dance and takes children and adults as a matter of course into philosophical thoughts. Heleen studied European Studies at the University of Amsterdam, with French as the main language, Arabic as the second and with specializations in economy and cultural exchange. (photo by Diana Blok)
Viktorien
van Hulst
Theaterfestival Boulevard – Project Manager
Since 2015 Viktorien van Hulst has been the Director of Theaterfestival Boulevard, taking full artistic and business responsibility for the performing arts festival that takes place in and around the city centre of ’s-Hertogenbosch. In addition, she heads the Bosse Nova foundation, an organization carrying out cultural projects. Viktorien studied Theatre, Film and Television Studies at Utrecht University. After graduating she went on to work with Productiehuis Brabant and Festival Cement, promoting talent development for young performing artists. She worked as an adviser for the Dutch Performing Art Fund and for the Dutch Council for Culture. From 2009 – 2015 she was Head of the Artistic Department at Toneelgroep Amsterdam.
