Gender Bender Festival is back in Bologna: which are the colors of gender?

Gender Bender is the International Arts Festival produced by Cassero LGBTI Center of Bologna and partner of Performing Gender project. The festival will run in Bologna from the 24th October to the 3rd November with over 100 events ranging from film showings to theatrical productions and dance performances, visual arts exhibitions, installation, roundtables and conferences, performances by musicians and DJs and clubbing events.

The main purpose of the festival is to introduce the Italian public to the new imagery related to gender identities, sexual orientations and body representations stemming from contemporary culture. It is a real model of how differences can give a contribution to the construction of a more rich and welcoming society from the human, social and cultural point of view.

This year the Dance section is enriched by the collaboration with the Dutch Performing Arts program, which will support the presence of  Shailesh Bahoran, Guilherme Miotto and Fernando Belfiore, and the French embassy, through Fondazione Nuovi Mecenati, which will contribute to host Severine Coulon, in particular the performance Filles e Soie, about the women's body and Thomas Lebrun, with his work Le roi de la piste.
