Dramaturgs Residency
Description
At the end of the training phase (october 2017/august 2018) CSC Bassano hosted the 5 dramaturgs for a residency taking place in Bassano del Grappa on the occasion of B.Motion Festival 2018.
The residency will be mentored by Peggy Olislaegers, one of the leading independent dance dramaturg in Europe.
The main aims of the residency were:
- to set a confrontation in order to identify the most important skills and competencies for the profession of the dance dramaturg at European level
- to map different practices and working methods
- to provide the dramaturgs with appropriate tools to help the dance makers shape the workshop weeks
During the residency, thanks to the confrontation with the dramaturgs, the 5 dance makers started translating their ideas into a work programme for their workshop: they reflected on the journey undertaken and set a training program for the class of dancers.
Throughout the week there had also been an open working session to share the conversation and the debate on different models of artistic companionship with the professional community of dancers gathered in Bassano and with relevant decision makers.
