Bologna Workshop

The last workshop took place in Bologna thanks to Gender Bender Festival and Cassero LGBTI Center. The ten young professional dancers trained with the choreographer Jija Sohn and the local dance dramaturg Greta Pieropan from Friday 14 December to Thursday 20 December. 

What is natural? What is beauty? An Italian proverb says: If you want to look beautiful, you have to suffer from a thousand troubles, is it true? Or is it a myth? 

How much do we edit our pictures in photoshop? How much do we play with our identities and aesthetic? Our bodies may promote new beauties if we let it be! The workshop was thought as a boot camp, space where dance and research are not just sweat, but where dance makers, dramaturg and dancers create an inclusive environment, where individualities move into a powerful collective, where collaboration is fundamental and even funny! 

The final sharing of the workshop was held on the last day, 20 December, at 9:00 pm, at Teatro Arena del Sole – Sala Thierry Salmon in Bologna.
