Sofia Magnani is a dancer graduated from the Professional Dance Training Course of the Ballet of Rome, directed by Roberto Casarotto. In 2005 she began to study contemporary, modern-jazz and classical with RAD method (Rotal Academy of Dance), for which he obtained the diploma of Advance 1. During her professional training, she studied with Marta Ciappina, Paolo Mangiola, Giorgia Nardin, Lauren Potter, Jorge Crecis, Pablo Tapia Layton and Andrea Costanzo Martini. In particular, she studied the techniques of contact, release, alexander, floor work, gaga, instant improvisation and choreographic composition.
During the first year of training, she takes part as a dancer at work “Candeo = I shine” directed by Francesca Pennini and supported by the Anticorpi XL network. In 2017 she took part in the “We are not alone” project by Anticorpi XL directed by Davide Valrosso. In 2016-2017 she participates in the B Motion festival as Dance Companion. In 2018 she performed for the sculpture show Hand shots held at the Angelica Library, Rome (directed by Gaia Clotilde Chernetich, in collaboration with the sculptor Vittorio Pavoncello). The same year she performed with the project Wendy Carlos directed by Pablo Tapia Layton at Spazio Diamante, Rome.
Parallel to her studies in contemporary dance, Sofia attended a three-year course in Business Administration at Università La Sapienza in Rome.
