Exploring the physical/sensorial experience of the viewer throughout the event

Nina Aalders (Hengelo, 1984) works as freelance dramaturg and programmer and artistic coach for Theaterfestival Boulevard in ’s-Hertogenbosch (NL).

Nina was educated as a theatre and performance scholar (MA Theatre Studies and RMA Media and Performance Studies, Utrecht), she has working experience as a teacher in dramaturgy and theatre history. As dramaturg she is interested in the physical/sensorial engineering of the experience of the viewer throughout the event as well as in topics related to bodily (re)presentation and (European) history.

She works a.o. with theatre maker Joachim Robbrecht and director Liliane Brakema on both textual and physical performances. With her colleagues she developed the ‘Josephkwartier’ for Theaterfestival Boulevard. The Josephkwartier is a location for the encounter between theatre makers, their work and the audience. This is concretised in the presentation of performances, work-in-progress and several context programs.
