Welcome to the new Performing Gender website

The European dance project on gender and sexual orientation differences comes to its second edition

In the next two years, six partner organisations from five EU countries, five dance makers, five dance dramaturgs and fifty young dancers will be involved in an experiment of interaction and artistic collaboration. The aim is to shape a new capacity building model and enable a new generation of European dance artists and professionals to develop a new form of narrative for LGBTI identities.

This new website will be the home of the project: you already find here the presentation of the partner organisations, the profile of the artists involved and the project calendar with the main milestones. Our news section will be implemented step by step with updates, interviews and announcements of the most important public events, in order for you to join us along the way in the six cities touched by the project: Bologna and Bassano del Grappa in Italy, Leeds in the UK, Ljubljana in Slovenia, Madrid in Spain and 's-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands.

If you are searching for information about the first Performing Gender project, carried on between 2013 and 2015 in Bologna, Maastricht, Madrid and Zagreb, click on the links in the Resources section on this page and visit our previous website, or download the project catalogue of the first edition.

Don't forget to follow us on Facebook and sign up to our newsletter (but be sure to pick this one if you work or train in the dance field).

Now you're ready to start: stay tuned!
