Born in Offenburg (Germany), Sarah Funda started training in Rythmic Gymnastics at the age of six, participating in local and national competitions. Soo, she changed her training to classical ballet. After studying in different schools, including John Cranko School in Stuttgart, in 2016 she completed her studies with a degree in classical and contemporary dance at the Ballettförderzentrum Nürnberg in Germany. During her studies, she interpreted several classical and contemporary roles. She worked with choreographers such as Eva Bormann, Tatiana Diara and Stephanie Roser.
In 2015 she danced as a soloist in the multidisciplinary production of Midsummer’s Night Dream in the Dehnberger Hoftheater in Dehnberg under the direction of Beat Wyrsch. Upon graduation, in 2016 she participated in the Dehnberger Hoftheater’s production called “Psalmen”. Since September 2016, she has lived and worked in Madrid, Spain, collaborating as a dancer and choreographer with various companies. Her first choreography “Takotsubo”, premiered in December 2017, and it won the first prize in the national competition of Rivas, Madrid, in April 2018.
